Frequently Asked Questions
-
BCST takes a whole-body approach to healing. Similar to massage, hand holds can happen on any part of the body aside from private areas.
-
Massage therapy and chiropractic work use pressure, movement and manipulation of the musculoskeletal system to relieve tension and imbalances. BCST uses handholds to holistically heal the body, with a primary focus on the fluid and nervous systems. Imbalances in the nervous system impact our health on all levels.
-
The Upledger method, sometimes called a biomechanical approach, is a form of craniosacral therapy that uses pressure, movement and manipulation. BCST achieves the same results from a place of stillness without the need for manipulation, allowing and supporting the body to do what it needs to do to heal and restore balance
-
Absolutely!

Although Reiki may seem similar, BCST is very different. While the energetic body is worked with, BCST also works with the fluids, tissues and nervous system. There is no transference or channeling of energy as is done in Reiki.
-
Nope! BCST is actually very beneficial for infants and babies, and anyone of any age is a great candidate. (Although toddlers usually refuse to stay still for too long!)

This depends on the state of your health, and your personal goals for healing. This work is cumulative, and usually between 3 and 10 sessions is most beneficial, particularly for chronic or deep seated conditions. Sometimes things clear up in just one session. Often, folks will come in regularly for a “tune up”, much like any other form of therapy.

Unfortunately not at this time. Your FSA/HSA may be able to help with payment after your session, and I can provide an invoice if you’d like. I do have sliding scale sessions available for those who need assistance.
